Fall Semester starts September 13, 2010
Career Center has been activated
Career Center
Instructor: Ms. Ortiz
The Career Center is a place where students reach for their goals by enhancing their education, learning about life opportunities within the various career pathways, which helps empower them to make educated choices.

The Career Center is student-centered and staffed by the Career Advisor, the Work Experience Education Teacher-Coordinator, peer counselors, and on occasion, by interns from colleges or other training institutions. The Career Advisor and Work Experience Education Teacher-Coordinator are usually combined positions. They are unique school positions requiring the faculty member to be off campus visiting student job sites, forming industry and business relationships, and attending meetings to keep current within our changing global market.

The Career Center follows the U. S. Grant High Bell Schedule which may be found on this website under "Students". The Career Center is open on most mornings at 7:50 AM, Nutrition, and Lunch to accommodate students with little disruption to their class time.

The Career Center provides information on:

• Regional Occupational Program (ROP)
• Regional Occupational Center (ROC)
• Adult Education and Career Centers (formerly Adult Schools)
• Career exploration including assessments and career
   pathways
• Academic skills
• Internships (paid / non-paid),
• Job shadowing
• Job openings including the First Break website
• Manufacturing Program at LAVC
• Senior portfolios
• Work permit
• Work Experience Education
• Useful websites
